Tests for Hepatitis

  1. LFTs; liver function test,it includes the following;

   Serum bilirubim(SBR) 

    Liver Enzymes e.g SGPT,ALT,Alkaline pgospgate.

SGPT is normal up to 45i.u

2.Hepatitis B aurface antigen(HBs Ag)its for  Hepatitis B virus(HBV)

3.Anti HCV this for Hepatitis C.

4.PCR(Polymerase Chain Reaction)this is for Hepatitis B&C.if PCR is postive then virus os active(gives damage to liver)if virus isnot active  then does not damage the liver.

These was the some important Test for Hepatitis.

Method of spread(transmission)

  • Hepatitis A &E spread by use of contaminated food or warer.

  • Hepatitd B,C&D speread by use of contaminated needle,stringe,blade,blood,surgical instrument,tooth brush.etc

  • Hepatits B&C also spread by sexual intercourse.from husbent to wife or mother to baby during birth.

Treatment of Heparits

  1. Rest but not complate bed rest.

  2. Dite should contain large amount of furit juices,carbohydrates,proteins and less amount of fates.

  3. Liver tonic e.g syp: jepetar,hepamerz,levejon,heptocam B.D.

  4. Vit B complex(neurobaian),Vit E(evion),Vit C.

  5. Minimun use of other drugs esp paracatmol.

  6. Anti viral is not use in acute Hepatits i.e less then 6 month duration.

  7. Oral anti viral medication are used in chronic hepatitis (B&C)for long duration.

This is simple Treatment of hepatits.mostaly hepatitus is treated by preventions.

3 Preventions of Hepatitis A&E

Here os 3 most important preventions for Hepatitis A&E:

  1. Proper wash hends with soap afterpassing stool or attading washroom.

  2. Utensils(cup,glass)or towel of hepatitus patient  should be seprated.

  3. Veccination of hepatitis A can be done to close contact pepole.

These are the most important 3 precentions for Hepatits A&E.
