Dehydration

Deficiency of water and electrolytes in body is called dehydration

Causes:

i:vomiting

ii:Diarrhea

iii:sweating

iv:skin burn

v:high grade fever

Sings of dehydration

1:cold body(extremities)

2:Dry inelastic

3:Dry and sunken eyes

4:Depressed funtenellea in children

5:low B.P

6:weak pulse 

7:increased thirst

Treatment of dehydration

>Relieve dehydration(rehydrate the patient)

>O.R.S(Oral rehydration salts)is given for mild dehydration while other cases need i.v drip

>pass i.v cannula and then give fluid and other drugs by it.in diabetic patient,normal saline is used
